TSRTC & Bisleri sign deal for sale of bottled water at stations
Hyderabad: The state-run Telangana State Road Transport Corporation on December 8 signed an MoU with Bisleri International for sale of bottled water at bus stations in the state from December 10.
The stalls in bus stations are at present allowed to sell bottled water, but complaints have been received about the sale of non-branded bottled water and that too at exorbitant rates, it said.
The statement released said that to curb the sale of local branded spurious and unsafe water bottles at more than MRP rates in the bus stations, it is decided to enter into a business partnership with national brands having ISI and fulfilling Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) standards in the process.
The Bisleri company would sell the bottled water with TSRTC logo, the release said, adding that existing drinking water facilities, such as tap water and RO plant water in bus stations would also continue.
