44,000 crores spent on irrigation projects: Devineni Uma

Andhra Pradesh minister for water bodies Devineni Uma said that NABARD is ready to provide 1000cr for the Polavaram irrigation project. Devineni Uma met Central minister for water bodies Nithin Gadkari on Tuesday on the occasion of 31 national water bodies meeting.

Devineni Uma who spoke to journalists from AP bhavan said that AP Chief Minister Chandra babu naidu is making the policy decisions as per the future needs and as a part of it they have interlinked Krishna and Godhavari rivers within a year. He said that the state government has spent 44,000cr for various irrigation projects in the state and has taken up the Polavaram project along with NABARD’s financial assistance of 1000cr.
